My name is Beatriz Adame-Foreman a mother of two wonderful children by the names of Grant and Sebastian Foreman . My oldest son Grant suffers from a rare immune disorder called Candle Syndrome. I decided to share my sons journey with the world to educate those parents that may not be aware that what their child is going through is similar to what my son has gone through in the last 3 years. During his journey I have learned that there is many parents or guardian that are in need of support not only financilly but also emotionally to cope with what the child is going through. Our assumption has been that at times when the child has two parents they both work closely to comfort one another. But the reality of it is , that the way they cope with things maybe different.
My husband and I met during our tenure in the dental field and during that time we became close friend that gave us the sense of support and foundation were we grew not only individually but as a couple. Our lives change drastically in July 2017 were without knowing God had a path for us that no one is prepared for.. As a couple we made the decision to not allow this to impact us personally but to grow as parents to support our child that needed us . Our hands were tied and we had to trust the medical professionals to take over. My husband biggest worry was to financially support the family and be able to provide for everything that was needed for our child. For me is was more knowing that I would be able to resist everything that is headed our way to provide strength and support for our family.
Our purpose of sharing our journey is to help you connect with other parents or guardians that may have a similar story as ours or yours, and provide one another with hope, guidance and tips that will help you through the difficult times. If you have a story to share or simply need to connect with a professional that can possibly assist you, please contact me and I will provide you with the resources we have. In hopes to help others we have also ask for any donation that will go directly to the Phoenix Children Hospital . Our sons journey is also part of the website to give you a a little more background of what we have gone through and the progress he has made. We have had an opportunity of partnering with Dr. Michael Shishov DMD and the NIH (National Institute of Health ) to find a stable treatment for our child and others that suffer from this rare syndrome called Candle Syndrome. Thank you for taking the time to be part of our story. We look forward to the next chapter in our lives that would give us the opportunity to help other
